The heat is rising and I am currently questioning my fair skin’s capabilities to resist the sun. So far the burns have remained confined to some nice redness in the face and a definite bleaching of my already pretty light hair. However, as the daily temperatures rise to 90, I doubt those burns will remain minor for long.
I have just returned from another crazy animal adventure, only this time with my love the camel. Yes, I did the touristy thing of riding camels on an overnight safari through the desert. I have many many stories and even more pictures (I took over 300 pictures for your viewing pleasure!); however this week of school has been ridiculous, plus I’m attending another, more fancy wedding where I will be donning my new blue shinny sari tomorrow night. So just a quick post to let you all know that I’m alive and to tell you that I will be updating the blog very shortly, I promise!
Until then, I’ve added a ton of pictures to facebook which I recently discovered people who don’t have a facebook account can still view. I hope you enjoy the pictures and I will be filling in the gaps in the story that the pictures fail to show very soon. I miss you all and really wish I had your snow right now. This Norwegian does not do well with heat!
Much love to you!

Krista, I am Ariel's mom. She's in India too - Varanasi. Via some grapevie, I got your blog address. It's great. I am going to India in June (not because I want to fry in the Indian heat but because I am a teacher and cannot go any other time.) I just wanted to say thank you for keeping such a detailed and interesting (funny) account of your experiences. I'm learning lots from them.
